Forward Helix

The helix piercings is also called cartilage piercing. Every piercing located in the upper cartilage of your ear is called helix. The forward helix however is located in the front outer part of the ear, above the tragus.

Pain:

6/10

Healing Time:

6-12 months, but this varies from person to person

Jewellery:

Tiny Labret in 5mm or 6mm are the best, huggies in 5mm-7mm can also be worn, but sleeping on the ring can irritate the piercing

After Care:

Taking care of your freshly pierced ear is the most important thing in the entire process. Listen carefully to your piercer’s instructions and follow them all.

In general, avoid touching your piercing or moving the jewellery, this can allow bacteria to enter your wound and can cause irritation or infection.

Using a saline or antiseptic solution (e.g. Octonisept) to clean your piercing twice a day until your piercing is fully healed.

Use your hair up for the first week and be extra careful when dressing to avoid snagging your jewellery.

For 2-3 weeks avoid swimming in lakes, pools or hot tubs.
